VOLUNTEERS
|
The Boy Scouts of America owes its success, in large part, to its
network of dedicated volunteers.
Last year nearly 1.3 million volunteers served the needs of the over 4 million youth participants in Boy Scouts. The many volunteers who give unselfishly of their time and resources come from all walks of life. Many are former Scouters who want to give back to scouting some of what scouting provided to them. The BSA can count virtually every profession among its volunteers. Everyone has something that they can offer to the youth that Scouting serves. Your local districts and council are ready to welcome new volunteers for a multitude of functions. They will provide training and resources to help you become the most successful volunteer that you can possibly be. In your district contact the District Executive or at council contact Dave Parry for information on where you would like to volunteer or where your services might be needed. You may have a knowledge base or skill set that will fit a current need. Many
great individuals have come up through the ranks of scouting. The
one thing that they all had in common was that they were all influenced,
directed, and taught by dedicated volunteers. |
